MEET YOUR GUIDE

Practitioner. Herbalist.

Yoga Teacher. Lifelong Student.

Based in Tucson, AZ — working with people who are ready to stop overriding their body's signals and start truly listening.

Part of my dedicated healing journey is that I continue to build endurance and nervous-system steadiness when climbing demanding terrain to the summits of technical routes. You’ll find my name in the register of the most remote peaks of Glacier National Park. I enjoy exploring pristine wilderness areas and the numerous treasures that are hidden within each adventure. My love of nature is the foundation of my deepening reverence for cyclical rhythms, seasonal fluctuations, twists and turns of life that call upon the body’s innate wisdom to become fully resourced to thrive.

My interest in yoga and ancient remedies began as a personal mission to heal a daily battle with anxiety and depression without using medication. One class revealed the potential of strength, flexibility and balance that I'd never felt before. I soon embarked on a life long journey to wellness. Now, with over 20 years of teaching asana, breath work and meditation, my certifications include Bikram, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra, Synergy, Reiki, and Somatic Healing. I harness comprehensive wisdom to manage and assist studios, lead retreats, train and mentor teachers, and facilitate community circles. My decade as a competitive yoga asana participant, coach and judge forged discipline, precision and serenity under pressure. I am approachable and engaging with a calm, steady manner that allows complex philosophies to transform into useful useful tools for daily life.

Most of my adult years have been spent studying and teaching yoga philosophy and practices. Eventually pursuing Ayurveda as a career became inevitable. Self inquiry began with a foundational course through the California School of Ayurveda, a more in depth approach excelled with the books and courses of Dr. Frawley and Dr. Lad. That knowledge ultimately led me to a fully immersive guided Ayurvedic Practitioner course with The Ayurvedic Living School. Learning Ayurveda steeped in the Shaka Vansiya (SVA) lineage provided a practical perspective on all of the foundational connections, possibilities and importance of this timeless wisdom that has continued to reveal itself to me over the years. The commitment to master my own health has propelled my offerings into powerful remedies for myself, family, friends and community.

Like many of us, in my 20's and 30's, I had remarkable strength, ambition and motivation that could overpower any fear, anxiety, frustration or doubt in most situations. In my early 40's, life started truly challenging my entire system: stressful corporate responsibilities, ailing family members and friends, aging pets, unpredictable world events and leadership, grief and the acceptance of mortality kept throwing me for loops that my yoga practice never fully prepared me for. My resilience began to dwindle and eventually plunged me into an autoimmune condition that practically shut down the once stunning confidence in my whole being. The diagnosis of Hashimoto's caused a daunting shift of feeling in control of my body and mind to being controlled by its inability to function properly in its form. From the outside, it was a confusing diagnosis, however in my continued studies of Ayurveda, it makes perfect sense that my body has been trying to signal to me for much longer than I knew how to interpret. A slow and steady return to basic routines, nutrition, activities and practices allows me to sustain clarity and stamina once again. It is from this experience of adjusting from pushing through to breaking down and building again that my own healing path was revealed.

This journey inspired me to share our healing potential with others and manifested as Spiral Source Ayurveda. I spend my time locally in Tucson, AZ soaking up all the mystique the Sonoran desert provides to infuse my meals, herbal remedies, tinctures, jewelry and crafts. I teach regularly at Tucson Yoga Sol, host teacher development opportunities, Ayurvedic consultations, workshops, online courses, 1-on-1 sessions, retreats, trainings and more.
